  1. I'm not African, but I've seen this thing.
My impression on the outset was that it appears to be a type of 50/50 favour exchange? I got the impression that it was a type of foreign exchange that was community loyalty and somewhat community norm because the hosts are offering an opportunity for the guest to visit the EU, get a bit of work to send back money but they are not getting money for the Babysitting, they are just fulfilling their community duty as a people?
It raises question why those people who allow people to sleep in the same room with their children are trusting the family friend because everyone is so deep in their culture to question any wrongs or taboos.
Working parents can get proper daytime childcare assistance.
To subject people over to babysit as if they're on a holiday is not fair, they want some money for their efforts it works both ways.
I got the impression that the sitters do it because they respect their country people much and they're cool with being a live-in handy person. 🤦🏾‍♀️

  2. Funny about the tripes thing, the same happened here in France. Tripes, chicken legs, pig or goat head, they used to be thrown away at the slaughterhouses, or given away for free to Africans. Now you have to pay to get sharki or chicken legs, and they cost almost as much as meat itself.

  3. Dammm l.know a Zimbabwean woman who was in her mid 50s she was told in 2001 by couple to come to.uk and look after the children, she was never paid anything lost contact with her children back.home and after 18 years someone help.to find one of her children on Facebook, she didn't even know that one of the children had died.

  4. This is how Africans did have a part in transatlantic slavery. There were enablers and humans regardless of race can just be vile. If it were people from another culture doing this to Africans, there would marches and a lot of noise. @Phrankleen, can you also address the topic of abuse of domestic workers in Nigeria? I'm always appalled at the portrayal of this shameful practice in Nigerian media.

  5. PHRANKLEEN (LET SEEK DONATIONS FOR HIM) TAKE PART OF THE MONEY TO BUY RETURN TICKET FOR HIM) KEEP THE BALANCE IN TRUST FOR HIM AND IF HE LANDS IN NIGERIA . HE SHOULD THINK OF BUSINESS TO START IN MOTHERLAND. PHRANKLEEN USE THE RESIDUE TO SET HIM UP AND MENTOR HIM AND KEEP AN EYE ON THE BUSINESS.

  6. £15/week wowwww. Those people are so evil. In Canada he would be earning $20-$50 per hour depending on the area and the couple. I’m actually so shocked

  7. Thank you setting that “he is a fool” commenter straight. If you don’t have anything constructive, why say it. Let’s be respectful of the unfortunate situation. Human first.

  8. This is absolutely disgusting. These are people that will be shouting about racism and mistreatment at work, while they have a slave at home.
I recall a case of an Nigerian couple who were doctors, enslaved someone for 24 years. They were charged for modern day slavery and their victim was given a right to remain here.

  9. He is being abused. That is called Modern Day slavery which is against the law in the UK Europe or North America,he can also seek asylum if he wants to stay. Nobody deserves to treat a grown man or woman like a slave !!He has to leave that home and find a way out by going back home or seeking residency through asylum,it is the only way for him to stay in the UK.

  10. The assumptions that these people are religious…I guess that's your experience, I'm sorry, the "religious: people in my life have been a sincere blessing.

  11. Our own black people will treat their fellow people hire them for babysitting and cleaning jobs for 10£ a day heartless POS. I urge those trapped in those situations to gain courage report them and get yourself documents ooo🚶🏾‍♀️

  12. Very unfortunate is he able to do any online training for himself while the family is at work as he is broke most of the time. Plus go underground for a while before getting himself deported by turning himself in.

  13. Modern day bloody slavery if they wouldn’t return my passport for me to go home I’d be going straight to police station and get assistance you know the cops in the uk will be ready to take them in

  14. Everybody is doing everything possible to travel abroad but they would be surprised how terrible it was without having a proper documentation. It’s sad that people take advantage of their un documented status and it’s common among Africans unfortunately. The best is either they go back home or spread their wings and make. It’s a lot of struggle anyways.
