30 years of democracy in South Africa may have achieved political stability but, with high unemployment and deep inequality, not the better life for all promised in its constitution.

With an election due next month, Al Jazeera’s Jonah Hull got the views of students at Johannesburg’s Wits University.

  1. We are still struggling to deal with the legacies of the vile apartheid system thirty years later. White people are still just as racist, just as self-entitled and just as greedy as ever. We need to de-colonise South Africa, get rid of the whites and we will be a great country! Unfortunately whites are still so wealthy and powerful, we will never be able to progress as long as they are here.
