If electric cars are the future, are hybrids the present?

Even if I had this amount of money to spend, no way id want my car to be electric..
Hello marques please can you do a full review for “yangwang U8” thank you 👍🏾
What a world we live in where a Corolla actually looks better than a BMW 7 series
This kid has come a long way.
I actually find your channel really interesting now, back when i was 12,i used to think it was pretty boring
I'm 14 now
This reminds me of my Honda CR-Z with the same gameification of driving efficiency. Do they all do this?
McLaren literally runs on stamina mechanics?! 😂😅
stop the trucking vid
When you're so rich that the point 4 behind the 2 million isn't even worth mentioning 😬😅
Not MKBHD taking notes out of MrBeast book with that title
The interesting thing is the Japanese have been making and using these hybrids for almost 30 years 😅
Ur face 😂 when the car started up 😂😂
There's a car kind of hybrid car that I wish for but nobody ever talks about: what about we swap the gearbox for a generator and trade the battery for a supercapacitor bank. Gets rid of a lot of weight and environmental concerns regarding the battery. So that would basically be a gasoline car, except with far superior efficiency, regenerative breaking and the added benefit of instant torque.
wrong channel
Bro the Mclaren has a rechargable nitrooo!!!!
The Toyota's eco score upsets other drivers on the road.
Just about to purchase thanks Marques for the review😁
One thing I don’t see anyone ever speak about is maintenance costs. Would be really curious to see if all this new tech/engineering in cars increases cost of repairs, which obviously if it does makes sense, but would be cool to see estimates on that or also with the increased amount of tech/engineering, does it also bring along some drawbacks or more things that can be damaged/malfunction/just go wrong etc.
Interesting that they were able to use cameras instead of mirrors. Tesla attempted to do the same thing years ago and the DOT would not sanction the cameras as a legal side view mirror for road use. Elon said in an interview that the mirrors alone reduced the range by 30 to 50 miles.
Honda Civics from the 90s could also get 40+ MPG, by being light and simple. If you want to save money, buy used. The price of gas is easier to deal with when you've spent $10K instead of $30K.
"literally"
The most practical for now for average driver is hybrid. With Toyota you can easily get 250,000+ miles without much maintenance expenses. The high mileage Tesla fb groups are mostly 100k-150k cars and questions mostly asked are should I get an extended warranty 3d party and most say yes. Resale values are higher on Toyota than Tesla with similar mileage. I had a used Prius for a transportation business that pretty much ran 20-24 hours a day and it lasted 250,000 before major maintenance problems. Most people are dumping their Tesla's close to where the warranty is up and prices have plummeted. Tesla reminds me much of Audi with consumer confidence where you get rid of it after 100k miles. I drove a M3 in Houston with less than 5k miles and the door panels were falling apart. Yes it was much faster than a Toyota but most of us aren't wealthy and buying a used car that will last 250k miles makes financial sense.
counter point: buy a diesel passenger car. buy used even. Easily get 50 MPGs in the city, possibly 40 MPGs on the highway, in a car that isn't even a hybrid. Plus, you can tow. but yes, the mass majority of people (in america) really just need a hybrid.
Needed the Koenigsegg Regera as the third option.
Prius
I love all the EVs but I live in an apartment so I can’t charge my car every night and there needs to be way more public chargers before I consider an EV so I got a hybrid. I got a 2023 Hyundai Elantra Hybrid which gets me around 52 mpg and I’ve been loving it so far.
So, I have a question. I have heard about gas going bad over time and not being used. So does that mean that theoretically if you were only using the electric battery for say a year would the gas go bad and if so what would happen> would the car warn you or would it be damaged? I realize that this is a pretty unusual and unlikely situation, but I am curious.
