2024 Nissan Patrol on/off-road (inc. 0-100) review: This V8 SUV has a brand new interior!

The mighty Nissan Patrol has finally received an interior update that doesn’t make it feel prehistoric. Is the new interior still functional though? Paul Maric does an on- and off-road review to find out if the new interior and features make this SUV a worthwhile purchase.

  1. I have two of em, and honestly its reliable as hell and just a very good car, be it for dunes, daily use, or highways. Literally one car I can't see myself not using, nor my people.

  2. Currently on a 4000 mile road trip in the USA in a US spec SL. Incredible car, such effortless grunt. Averaging 12.2L per 100Km, with a luggage for two. Staggered at such fuel efficiency particulary given all the Mountain ranges being traversed, often on radar cruise control. Love them, now want one, lol.

  3. Nice car but it's still the "cashed up bogan" poor man's Mercedes-Benz AMG63 GLS knock off !! Everything you see here is in the Merc, just better and more refined. The new Mercedes Me touchscreen driving and entertainment system is beautiful and more user friendly. I'd still stay with my Mercedes though….

  4. If I had the $$$'s, and I know many people do, I would certainly be taking a serious look at one of these. That interior, with the updates to the info system, is a nice place to be too. Meantime, as I live in the bush on serious acreage, I'm perfectly fine with my Navara Pro4 X.
I'm just wondering about the 6 cylinder Patrol coming out next. Will it be getting close to the V8 in power and what will the expected fuel economy be?

  5. Ive just ordered the TIL an just noticed in this review but im not sure if its just this car or all of them now but have they removed the kids screens out of the back seats?

  6. I think in 2024.. the Ti is decent value (you gain the fidge and TiL rear vision mirror camer item) but these things really do need the 360deg camera. Howver, the TiL has lost so much value and costs 3k more… waste of money. You lose the TV's in the back (if you dont have kids in the back for regular 5hr trips you wont understand). I cant believe how badly Nissan Australia stuffed up this "update" and so glad I purchased a 2023 TiL.

  7. The upgraded interior definitely looks better than the horrendously outdated version of the former.

Unfortunately though the upgrade only brings it on par with the soon to be outgoing interiors of other current brands. So it will soon be outdated again.

Therefore as someone who was seriously considering a patrol, l I'd rather wait to see what the new car looks like opposed to purchasing a car with 12 to 18 months life remaining before being replaced with a new model.

  8. Not enough of change. TiL always had a cooler in the centre. And they always had the digital rear mirror. They removed the digital display in the read for aircon etc.

  9. Seriously, why have they spent the money on a crappy aftermarket system when the rest of the world (literally everywhere but Australia) has the new factory fit interior?!? Gets rid of the nasty old wood & actually makes it feel modern! 🤦🏼‍♂️

  10. 23:45 – That exactly what they did, while removing features like side cameras, tyre pressure monitoring and digital rear seat HVAC. That infotainment system is from Directed Technologies identical to Hino trucks.

  11. Would I upgrade my 2015 T-il? I don’t think so. 130 ks on the clock and it still drives the same as it did when I drove it out of the showroom. It has a cool box, 360 camera, front camera, 13 speaker sound system, surround sound theatre system with rear screens, full control of the rear aircon not just fan speed, it even has a T-il badge on the tailgate. You would have to do a far more detailed comparison to see what else is missing, a couple of phone chargers and an iPad stuck on the dash is not going to do it for me.
