I wasnt hit directly, but close enough to get zapped from the ground up. I was BBQing in my backyard with my brother in-law and was in the middle to removing the food from the grille when lighting hit on the other side of my fence. Simce itnwss raining, im guessing the floor was soaked enough to extend the strike directly towards us.

We both collapsed and i couldn't stand up foe a few minutes. Lost breif consciousness, maybe 5 seconds. I remember being frozen and feeling numbness in my legs and a shock on my tongue all at thw same time.

We were taken to the hospital and stayed overnight for observation. I have a scar from it on the medial side of my left ankle.

I delt with cramping on and off for a few months, but that was it. My brother in-law was left with spasms on his right leg that still affect him. We were beyond lucky.
