Sir, I am Ghanaian and I saw a video of my tribe (Asante) cultural dance when you were explaining the "Two Weddings" ritual. I want to humbly bring to your notice that we "Asantes" don't practice that so kindly edit it from the video. Nobody spends the night with the Couple on their wedding night.
The number 4 is not something happening in all African country because since I was born and now I’m getting older…I’ve never heard of such happening in my country…👌🏾
Cambodia ❤❤❤
9:07 I'm ok with this one haha
55 year old Scottish person from Edinburgh now living in Perth. I have neither heard of nor witnessed this tradition.
I may just remain single if that’s what I need to go through to get married. SPITTING ON THE BRIDE!? WTH IS THAT!? 😱😱
They crying cuz they know the bride is about to be enslaved
Yes it Malawi, Angola and Zambia the culture of stealing or capturing a woman before marriage.
It's disgusting she may get sick from spitting
Insanity
You must have been the one who got spit on
I have always been proud to be an American
Wow!! from now, I have options to get married following different tradition. Great video!
wow crazy world out here
The spitting tradition would be considered humiliating
In South Africa is normal to buy bride price with both money and cows
Where in Africa please
They all unique to the counties they are from❤
I went to my cousin wedding in Scotland and i seen nothing like that ever happened maybe that they very up to date 20th century kind of wedding gone are those days ???
None of these is as weird as a man marrying another man. Maybe you should have added that to the list as the 16th weirdest shit from America.
🎉
❤ his my favourite one
I never heard of that fish in the Korean traditional wedding . 😂😂😂 don’t make up for story 🥶😨
Wow and I thought we had it bad Americans got it good cause wtf
I don’t know why he said the Molly contained extraction of the tooth because it’s just filing of the teeth not removing a whole tooth
Biko where in Africa do two people spend the 1st night with the couple
I need to be a Moratanyan!
im from Scotland and ive never heard of that tradition or seen it and ive stayed in Scotland all my life what we do have maybe a week or so before the wedding is a stag night for the groom and a hen night for the bride to be it includes friends of the groom usually it will be all males will go out for a night or some go away for a weekend it nearly always ends up drinking lots of alcohol having a good time and maybe tying the groom to a lamppost half naked or sending him a few hundred miles away in a taxi from his hometown especially if his wedding is the next day the bride to be hen night will normally be a night of them all wearing the same clothes with a sash on saying bride to be and bridesmaid and maybe setting challenges for the bride to be to complete basically both parties getting drunk and having a good time
Cambodians are more poor than how Europeans believes of Africans.
Capturing a bride is not a weird and wonderful tradition. Also happens in Roma communities known as grabbing ! If you want a girl you go grab her, its seen as a very accaptable tradition, maybe ok in fun but it again is about power and control, you may not like the person grabbing you at all…… Its all pressure on women to do the will of men and that its so great to be 'chosen' wheres the female choice ! It goes back to rape culture where a woman has no say in who she is linked too. If a man wants her he gets the whole family to be involved and complicit. So many traditions go back to females having to be under the will of and subserviant to men. This includes being 'given away' at western weddings. Goes back to women being the property of men………
So ripping apart a living and breathing chicken is a special tradition but marry a big girl and that's just harmful and shameful. Right. Got it. 🙄
I love Scotland ritual
My wedding tradition come out of the Catholic faith…it is a sacrament, and didn't change until V2.
Im Swedish and I never ever heard of the pig decoration… nor do I find any information when I google it in Swedish.
I’m proud to be a dual citizen 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 where at least i know I’m free. Not being able to shit for 3 days, pulling my teeth out, getting spit on.. anyone can kiss the bride or groom, getting kidnapped to get force to married. Getting watched on your wedding night by elders, 😅😅😅😂😂😂
Borneo is Kalimantan, is from Indonesia country. And Bali is from Indonesia too. Sumatera, Java, Kalimantan / Borneo, Sulawesi, Lombok / Nusa Tenggara, Papua is island name from Indonesia.
I'm Indonesian. Indonesia is so many traditions and island.
The pulling of the teeth talk about sacrifice😮
Yes! In my country Nigeria west Africa there is a tribe called adara who normally steals the bride the love before officially informing the bride family.
Again another tribe in Nigeria the koma people in Adamawa state where one of the bride's tooth is removed before the marriage ritual to show resilience.
That of the Bali is similar to the practice of the Etsako people of Edo state, Nigeria in ancient days. Not practiced anymore. And they got their name from that practice.
Killing the chickens is absolutely disgusting. Stupid idiot ritual
The teeth is the worst
All Angels are white. That's the message here with all the caveats against weddings in African culture.
So far I'm feeling sorry for the chicken and the flounder….
The ppl who want their bride to be very curvy and large facinates me. Another thing is long ago women with heavier builds and wider hips were thought to be able to bear children with more chance of mother and child surviving. I can't help but wonder about the women who are naturally smaller? I'm 5'2 @ wore a size 3 when i martied @ even later in life i stayed small. I had one son @ couldn't have any more babies. I had a large appetite when i was younger, just burned out all off i guess. So the smaller women are undesirable, so if they can't seem to gain weight do they end up spinsters?
Marriage by capture is also common to some tribes in Western Uganda. But it is fading away due to the current laws
It's the same in Africa among the Zulus they girls fat
Yes it’s easy to cry- most the brides get abused
