  1. A house at the beach was my life dream. Now I spent a week in a beach house in Central America and I am in doubt. Listening to breaking waves during the night is awful.

  2. We should own nothing and be happy… remember what they said 😢😂
All listed countries are beautiful however be aware that your price or value increase would depends on how many wealthy nations could afford to pay…. Be mindful of local people and their ability to afford Realstate purchase. I always say – Yes I could afford to buy… but who would want to buy it from me. Keep your mind open to see a bigger picture of the country.

  3. I spent 6 long weeks in Funchal. I have never seen so much smoking, so many disabled and elderly people. I got the sense the city was dying. There was no A/C anywhere and it was unbearably hot with mosquitoes everywhere. I couldn't wait to get out of there. If our accommodation had A/C and any of the restaurants we visited did, it would have completely changed the experience. The island is absolutely beautiful but the people are all broken.

  4. I have lived in Sicily. Sure, real estate isn't that expensive, but the cost of living is! Petrol or fuel for your vehicle is $4 a liter. Utilities costs are also very expensive. Lastly, you should speak Italian as English is not widely spoken there. Foreign migrants have invaded Sicily, so crime has risen. I wouldn't live there, but I'd spend 2 or 3 months there during the summer and then leave for Croatia or Sardinia.

  5. Wonderful list. Pity that the waterfront properties in Sri Lanka all appeared to be lined with roads and train tracks. Makes it hard to appreciate the sound of waves lapping at the shore.

  6. Don't buy properties and make those beach towns phantom towns that only live during the holiday season. The apartment are inexpensive because those are the prices locals can afford. Let them live where they come from and belong

  7. In the USA "Cheap" pricing waterfront Apt's/flat/condo are for ONE and ONLY reason: The owner pays incredibly high monthly fees for (maintenance and other orchestrated costs for the pool, guards, building insurance etc…) So what is the real COST of living there is the MAIN FACTOR – not the unit price.

  8. Also, the Philippines was just rated as the country with the best beaches in the world. Although a foreigner cannot buy land, they can buy an apartment. Visas for foreigners are less restrictive than in many countries.
