10 Things Men Shouldn't Wear in 2024 (or Ever)

I know, I know… Another clickbait-y, overly prescriptive hot take about what you should or should not wear. Let me just get something straight before we get into the list. First, this is all just, like, my opinion, man. And I’m just some guy on the internet. Sure, I think I have pretty good taste, but taste is subjective, and yours is just…

  1. Couple of clarifications:
1 – Yes, I agree that v-necks make great undershirts
2 – You could argue that most watches are "homages" in some way…okay, fair point
3 – Yeah, John Wick wears all black. But are you John Wick?
4 – Black shirts are fine as part of a uniform (musician, clergy, valet, etc.)
5 – Brown is an underrated color in menswear
6 – I'm adding oversized watches to this list
    7 – And bowties
    8 – Buy my style course – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ

  2. Definitely clicked on this video expecting to disagree on at least one item, but I have to say I do agree with almost all of them.
The bonus item.. I've been where you are before. Only in the last year or two did football's appeal change for me where spending my free time on a Sunday unwinding watching football for three hours appeal to me more than dedicating my time and money to something else. Still haven't bought a jersey, but I'm considering it. Then again, you made great points so perhaps I'll just save that $130.

On a separate note, Really well prepared and delivered video. Excellent takes. Well spoken. Subbed.

  3. Idk soft squishy shoes are comfortable, for me, when standing 8+ hours a day. A leather stacked, rubber capped fashion boot, not so much. I've been down the "heritage" boot rabbit hole, and it isn't working out. If I could wear flip flops to work, I would.

  4. Well this coming from a man who is using an Apple laptop!!! Actually, I worked construction my entire life. All you need are blue jeans like Wrangler, Lee's and possibly Levi's. For shirts , just wear cotton plain color with dual pockets which will hold your phone. Nothing worse than a dude with a pocket too small to hold his phone. In the winter wear long sleeves and short sleeves on the summer. NEVER EVER WEAR A PURSE! If you must have something additional use a backpack with a handle on top and with 2 straps. Not that you'll ever use both at one time but it's there just in case you need to leave somewhere in a hurry!

  5. Agreed on the V Tees just dumped some the other week and black shirt – got one as a present and it's never been taken out of the wrapper. You forgot blue jeans – I'd say no unless you're under 25. (Black if over).

  6. I disagree with the watch. If I am wear a 20k $ watch I will not spend a minute without beeing scared someone steals it or I scratch it.
So I rather buy a fake one that looks like the real deal and dont mind if someone asks me if its a Rolex. Cause its not for me, its for others thinking I have one.
Cause lets me real, If I buy a 20k $ watch no matter what I do, 99,99% of people will think its fake even if its the real deal! LMAO

  7. I 97% agree with this. One question: is your birth name seriously Brock McGoff? It's like you were born to give men's fashion advice on YouTube.

  8. Great list and I totally agree on all points! I also love to play sports but can't stand watching most of them. The social pressure to watch and enjoy American football is so high and I just can't fake liking it. It's such a jaw breaking yawn to me.

  9. Agree mostly, except the V neck tees. I've preferred them for 20+ years. Some crew necks are too high around my neck. Jane can have as much Botox as she wants, she's an icon! 🙂

  10. I clicked on this vid ready to unleash the hate and everything was spot on EXCEPT (yes there’s always an exception) your criticising cargo shorts. They can be very useful on the trails or in the city during summer when you’re rocking an urban outdoorsy outfit and need extra storage since you cannot wear a jacket and the backpack would make your back sweat.
I found your video very interesting and would only suggest a little bit more open-mindedness and less blunt opinions.
But I definitely agreed with most of your points (yes, watching sports on tv is boring most of the time)! Keep up the good work 👊🏾

  11. 1 reason to own hybrid dress shoes: Trade Shows. I stand on my feet on a pad of carpet on concrete for 8-9 hours for 3-4 days straight. I need to look professional and a proper pair of oxfords just don't cut it. A set of hybrids keep my low back from blowing out on me. Only way to go.

  12. Watch terminology:
Original = More or less original design
Homage = a tribute to a famous watch (or group of watches) with alludes to that watch, but is otherwise largely original
Clomage = copied design, but not the branding. It can still be a respect-deserving watch, if the original isn't practically obtainable
    Fake = copied branding.

  13. I agree about the Sports thing, you raise a point know one else has on the dressing advice videos there, there are probably many men that pretend to like team sports to be impressive & trendy, but it's not my thing & I never wear sports clothing to look impressive, I might wear one of those Super hero T shirts though because they are fun.to my mind (in 2x extra large of course)

  14. I don't agree about V necked T shirts,
ive recently bought a couple, but NOT to follow a fashion trend. probably traditional round neck looks a little better BUT it really doesnt make much difference, if you are wearing a V neck it can show off part of your upper chest, which can look good if your muscular, in the summer months.
