Any talk of creating some pan-African entity requires clear definitions, is it nationalistic (renaming and merging countries), is it purely trade, military, currency? – terms and definitions relating to its scope are critical. Some of these are touched on in the vid, but is anything concrete being proposed?
Any unification though, regardless of the terms would face severe complications to achieve. Think of the hundreds of dispirit tribes even within some of the larger countries, think of the cultural differences, think of the religious differences. How many African nations currently face civil war of some kind? – a huge amount. Now multiply those differences when trying to align whole countries under common ideals and policies. Purely at an economic level its not straightforward. The more powerful economic countries (EG Nigeria Ethiopia Ghana) will have different agendas and motives to their less affluent neighbours making agreement difficult. Aligning currency is typical in this. Some existing currencies will be stronger than other nations currencies. Before European countries are permitted to join they must meet basic requirements of parity. If not chaos results.
My point is not that it cannot be done, but that its a massively complex issue that requires clear definitions and goals

What does union mean. Are you referring to one like the EU or one leader for all of Africa. That would be messed up because of the many languages and cultures.

Swahili is very easy to learn, and it's spoken in about 7/8 Countries in the Eastern Africa. Therefore people who can speak Swahili are found in every part of our continent due their large number, that's I propose we all learn it. @James Odeny our threat start with ourselves. Almost all african countries if not all have corrupt governments and leaders who are still being led by foreign countries. The day we're going to have people who want the best and love their countries and people, is when our continent will change.
