KENYA APPEARS INDIFFERENT TO THE AFRICAN DIASPORA
Kenya has not yet extended a formal or special program aimed specifically at members of the African diaspora who may wish to return, live, or work in the country, unlike Ghana's Year of Return initiative, which actively encourages African descendants to reconnect with their roots. Ghana has positioned itself as a welcoming home for the African diaspora through programs like the Right of Abode and the Diaspora Investment Forum, which facilitate both resettlement and investment. With open arms, it is welcoming those who can add value to the land and people of Ghana, especially those who are descendants of those who were kidnapped and exported as slaves in ages past but who now have valuable resources, connections, and skills.
In contrast, Kenya has focused more on economic and tourism strategies, such as the newly introduced Digital Nomad Work Permit, aimed at global professionals who must guarantee they receive at least $50,000 (6,463,500 KSH) annually, rather than a targeted welcome for the African diaspora. Kenya's current immigration and work policies do not appear to include provisions that specifically favor African descendants looking to relocate, though the country has long been a prime destination for tourism and business in Africa.
While Kenya is a member of the African Union (AU) and supports the AU's initiatives like the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), these frameworks focus on economic integration and mobility rather than targeted resettlement or citizenship incentives for the diaspora.
There could be opportunities in the future, especially as discussions about African unity and diaspora engagement grow across the continent. However, as of now, Kenya has not yet formalized a strategy similar to Ghana’s proactive diaspora initiatives

We need more promotion of tourism between African countries, so that instead of being competitors for foreign (EU, US) visitors, we would be partners for intra-continental tourism.
I hope I never have to choose between Ghana and Kenya.
I love both countries. In fact, I just returned home from a 3-week vacation in Nairobi.
Better don't compare these compare these countries at all. They are two different things all together. I lived in Kenya for almost 10yrs and have been to all their regions (Counties) and have really enjoyed every single bit of it. Before you compare better do just as l did, then you can be able to say something. If not you will offend citizens of both countries.
These and other countries are trying their best both politically, culturally and in many other dimensions. Developing the Capital City alone and neglecting other parts of a country is not a development. Internet can also deceive you dearest brethren. Keep on traveling to discover more.

I feel like both countries have what they good at and what they not good at.Kenya for me is really advanced in terms of infrastructure,technology and economic power than Ghana. Ghana used to be but most countries in Africa have come along way for instance we have Rwanda that is really growing ,Tanzania that is also really developing so I feel like it’s subjective to time.Kenya has come a long way in terms of growth you have to give them that.Ghana is equally a very beautiful country with resources and has always been since time in memorial.
