Africa should unite

Listening to the representatives of the Garifuna people so far, it reminds me of just what happened to and still is happening to ALl Africans who left the continent. Integration only caused us to loose a lot of our culture and we are lacking in the economic sector still. But, these issues will and MUST come to an overdue pass. I heard a rep saying they used the Garifuna people were inspired by the teachings of Marcus Garvey, which advocated self reliance and that Africans owned ALL they needed to survive and prosper. As a people, we have the numbers to support whatever business or venture we come up with, especially since the internet and online shopping facilitates that. Also, we need to push for more tourism within our community that will stimulate our economic heartbeats and also to promote more knowledge of all our people the world over. Oh, even though the Garifuna people may be a minority within their respective territories, you are a part of the greater AFRICAN family and we will support our own at all costs.
